Frequently Asked Questions
What type of clients do you work with?
I work with a mix of contract employers, recruitment agencies, small and medium sized businesses, start-ups, scale-ups, and charities. Engagements range from short term delivery support to longer running fractional roles. If you need senior project leadership without a permanent hire, this is typically a good fit.
What types of projects do you support?
I support complex and high impact initiatives, including:
Business and digital transformation, Data, platform, and system implementations, New product or market launches, Process, operating model, and workflow design, Regulated or high risk initiatives, Delivery recovery where projects are slipping or unclear.
If the work involves multiple stakeholders, dependencies, or uncertainty, I can usually help.
Do you work through recruitment agencies?
Yes. I work both directly with clients and through recruitment agencies. I am used to agency contracts, rate cards, onboarding processes and client facing delivery. I aim to make agency relationships simple and reliable by delivering exactly what is agreed.
Are you a contractor or a consultant?
I operate as an independent project management consultant providing contract and fractional services. In practice, this means I take ownership of delivery and operate as part of your team, while remaining an external, independent professional.
How do you charge for your work?
I work on a simple, straightforward fixed daily rate, regardless of the project scope, the changing requirements, delays and budgets. One or more days per week, A set number of days per month, Short term or longer term support, Ongoing fractional delivery, The rate remains the same regardless of the cadence. Details are always confirmed in writing before work begins.
Do you offer fixed price projects?
No. I do not offer fixed project fees. Projects often evolve as more information becomes available, priorities shift, or dependencies change. A daily rate model allows flexibility while keeping commercial terms transparent and fair for both sides.
How long do engagements typically last?
This varies widely. Some engagements last a few weeks to stabilise delivery or cover a gap. Others run for several months or longer as part of an ongoing programme or transformation. Engagements can be reviewed, scaled up, scaled down, or concluded as the work evolves.
Can you work with our existing team and tools?
Yes absolutely. I am comfortable working within your existing structure, tools, and ways of working. If something is clearly not serving delivery, I may suggest adjustments, but nothing is changed without agreement.
What if we already have a project manager or delivery lead?
That is common. I can Support an existing project manager, Take ownership of a specific workstream, Act as senior oversight or delivery support, Step in temporarily during capacity gaps, train or support your existing project leads in any way you require. The role is shaped to complement what you already have.
Do you guarantee project outcomes?
No. I do not guarantee outcomes or completion on my own. Project success depends on multiple factors including client engagement, availability of internal resources, supplier performance, budget, and scope stability. What I do guarantee is professional leadership, structured delivery, clear communication, and active management of risks and issues.
How do you handle confidentiality?
Confidentiality is taken seriously. I am happy to sign NDAs and operate within your information security and data protection requirements. All client information is treated as confidential by default.
Are you covered by insurance?
Yes. I hold appropriate professional indemnity and public liability insurance. Details can be provided on request.
How does contract and onboarding work?
Once a proposal is accepted, a contract and NDA are signed if required, commercial terms are agreed, onboarding and kick off are scheduled, Access to systems and stakeholders is arranged. I aim to make onboarding efficient so delivery can start quickly.
How and when do you invoice?
Invoicing is typically monthly, based on days worked during the agreed period. Any specific invoicing requirements, purchase orders, or agency processes are agreed upfront.
Do you work on site or remotely?
I work remotely by default but can attend on site where it adds value. On-site days, travel expectations and cadence are agreed as part of the proposal.
What do you need from us to be successful?
The most important things are: A clear primary point of contact, access to stakeholders when decisions are needed, timely feedback, realistic alignment on budget, resources, and timelines. With those in place, delivery tends to move quickly.
What is your refund policy?
I don’t offer refunds. You are hiring me for my time to work for you as part of your team, the same way you would hire any contractor. Once my time is allocated for your project, the payment will be due, regardless of the outcome. This is why the Discovery Call is crucial to ensure that the expectations on both sides are clear.
What is the best next step?
The best next step is a discovery call. You can outline what you are trying to achieve, and I will tell you honestly whether I am the right person to help and what success would realistically require.
