Once your project management tables are in place, the next step is to create a Project Health Dashboard where everything related to a project can be viewed in one place.
Instead of opening multiple tables to see tasks, risks, workstreams, and status updates, Airtable allows you to create an Interface that aggregates all project information into a single page.
The dashboard displays:
- Project overview and key metadata
- Deliverables / workstreams
- Weekly status updates
- RAID log (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies)
- Decisions
- Tasks
All automatically filtered to the selected project.
Step 1: Create the Interface
- Open your Airtable base and go to the Interfaces section.
- Click: Create → Interface
- Choose the layout: Record review
- When prompted to select the data source table, choose: Projects
- This tells Airtable that each page will represent one project record.
- A project selector will appear automatically at the top of the interface.
- Example: Project > [Your Test Project}
- Selecting a project will refresh the entire dashboard.
Step 2: Configure the Project Overview Panel
The top section of the dashboard should display key project information. Add the following fields from the Projects table:
- Project
- Client
- Primary contact
- Overall RAG
- Status
- Phase
- Start date
- Target end date
This provides an overview of the project health and lifecycle stage. This section acts as the project header for the rest of the dashboard.
Step 3: Add Deliverables / Workstreams
- Next, add the Deliverables table to show the project’s workstreams.
- Click the + button and choose: Deliverables
- Select a List or Grid layout.
- Display the following fields:
- Deliverable / Workstream name
- Assignee
- Status
- Start date
- Deliverable health
- Because the Deliverables table contains a Project link field, Airtable automatically shows only deliverables linked to the selected project.
This section provides visibility into the major streams of work within the project.
Step 4: Add the RAID Log
The RAID log tracks Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies affecting the project.
Click: RAID table
Display the following fields:
- Description
- RAID type
- Status
- Path to green
This section gives project managers a quick view of delivery risks and constraints.
Step 5: Add the Decisions Log
Projects often require important architectural or operational decisions. Add the Decisions table to the interface.
Display fields such as:
- Decision description
- Decision date
- Decision status
Tracking decisions helps maintain clarity and accountability during delivery.
Step 6: Add Weekly Status Updates
Weekly reporting is the heartbeat of project delivery. Add the Weekly Status Updates table.
Display the following fields:
- Status summary
- Week identifier
- Key achievements
- Key risks / issues
- Decisions needed
This section provides the latest operational update for the project.
Step 7: Add Tasks
Finally, add the Tasks table to track operational work.
Display fields such as:
- Task name
- Details
- Project
Tasks represent the execution layer beneath deliverables.
How the Dashboard Works
The interface automatically filters all sections using the selected project. When you switch the Project selector, the dashboard updates instantly to show:
• Deliverables for that project
• Tasks for that project
• RAID items for that project
• Weekly status updates for that project
This creates a single operational view of project delivery.
